Waxing FAQ
How long does the hair need to be for waxing?
You need to wait at least 3 weeks from your last shave or wax. The hair needs to be about 1/4 inch long (the length of a grain of rice).
Does waxing hurt?
The most common fear with waxing!
Everyone has a different pain tolerance. Although waxing can feel uncomfortable, it is a quick pull and sting, then it disappears. You are not in constant pain the entire appointment. Most clients say "that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be!"
The more you wax, the easier it gets. Once you see the results, you'll forget all about it ;)
What does a brazilian wax include?
A Brazilian wax includes removing all the hair in the bikini area, including the labia and in between the butt cheeks. You may leave a landing strip or a triangle of hair if you prefer to not be completely bare.
What type of wax do you use at Willow Salon + Brow Artistry?
For our brazilian waxing services, we use a combination of soft wax and a premium hypoallergenic hard wax.
How long does a brazilian wax appointent take?
We schedule 25 minutes for our Brazilian wax appointments. The actual waxing takes about 15-20 minutes! It is a pretty quick process, but we never want you to feel rushed.
How long does waxing last? When will the hair grow back?
You only need to get waxed every 4 weeks! Just once a month. You will start to see hair come back in about 2 weeks, but it will be much softer, finer and there will be less hair. When you wax, we're pulling the hair from the root so it does not grow back stubbly like it does when you shave.

How often should I get my brows waxed?
This answer is going to be different for everyone. Depending on how quickly your hair grows, how long you have been tweezing/waxing, etc. Most people can get their brows done about once a month. Some people come every 2 weeks, some every 8 weeks.

My brow are uneven or overplucked. Can you guys help me get my shape back?
Yes! We love to help reshape and rehab your brows. We help clients all the time keep their brows cleaned up, while also letting them grow back in where they need to in order to recover a good shape. When you come in for your appointment, we will map your brows and see what our options are!
What is brow tinting?
Brow tinting is basically just dying your brow hairs. There are many benefits to this!
Who is eyebrow tinting good for?
Brow tinting is great for:
Blondes: this helps to make your brow hair more visible. When your hair is really light, it's hard to see, so your brows are living up to their full potential!
Fine hair: brow tint darkens the brow hair, making them look fuller and more defined.
People who fill in their brows everyday: Tint can give you the look of having your brows filled in.
How long does eyebrow tint last?
2-4 weeks on your hair. The tint will stain your skin for the first day or two, so it looks a little bit more bold the first day.

I'm scared to tint my eyebrows because I don't want them too dark.
The tint we use is customizable. We customize the color to you, then the processing time varies depending on how natural or bold you want them to look. Let us know what you're going for and we can provide you with that! We have colors ranging from light blonde, taupe, strawberry blonde, auburn, light brow, dark brown, brown/black.
What is brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a chemical process (similar to a perm), but it straightens your brow hair. This makes your hair more flexible, allowing you to brush or style your brow hair into place easily.
Is brow lamination safe for my brows?
Yes, brow lamination is safe for your brows. It's no different than having chemical processes done on the hair on your head. Brow lamination can only be done every 4-6 weeks and you should be taking a break from it from time to time. You will also be sent home with hydrating oil to use on your brows as aftercare to keep them nice and healthy!

What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is like a perm for your lashes! It curls your lashes, making them look the same as they would if you used a lash curler. This is a chemical process and allows your lashes to stay curled/lifted for 6-8 weeks.
How long does a lash lift last?
6-8 weeks
